Covid-19 Policies

To ensure to the best of our ability the safety of everyone, and to comply with Santa Clara Public Health announcement, which indicates masks are required indoor in healthcare setting, both the therapist and the client need to wear masks in the room and during the course of any given session.

Therapeutic massage is a licensed profession, and is part of the allied healthcare field. There is a brief screening for Covid-19, and other respiratory infections before the massage session starts.

Respiratory Infections

Massage is not recommended during the contagious phase of any respiratory infections; and while any active or lagging symptoms are still present. It(massage) actually needs to be avoided during the respiratory infection period. The reason for this is threefold; it is for yours and the therapist's sake, and also for the sake of the clients who have their appointments right after you.

During the sickness receiving massage can potentially slow down the normal healing of the body and hinder the body's ability to heal.

If you had a respiratory infection, there is no way to accurately determine when you are no longer contagious. So, to avoid transmission you would want to avoid close encounters with others, including the massage therapist.

On the bright side, when you are back to feeling like your healthy self again, without any symptoms, not even the lagging ones, then go a head and book or rebook your massage and treat yourself to that self-care.

Massage is very beneficial after the sickness. It will help you to restore, and heal, boosting your immune system (not of course during the respiratory infection), and it helps lymphatic flow and drainage.
